WAR CHILD UK

GO TO UK VACANCY WEBSITE

War Child UK was established in 1993 in response to the brutal effects of conflict in former Yugoslavia on children. A compelling message and strong association with the film and music industries allowed the organisation to quickly establish itself.

Fifteen years on, War Child UK now works with children affected by war in Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Afghanistan and Iraq, where we are the only child protection charity still working in the south.

We work with children who have been hit hardest by the joint forces of poverty, conflict and social exclusion. Our groundbreaking work with former child soldiers, street children and children in prison has supported and helped thousands who would otherwise not have been able to reintegrate with their community, gain access to education or enjoy sustainable livelihood support.

The children we work with participate directly in our decision making and project design. In this way our projects reflect their needs not ours.

Today our passion for child rights is as strong as ever and we are determined to continue working with children who have been most severely marginalised by conflict. To find out more about our work:

WAR CHILD CANADA

GO TO CANADA VACANCY WEBSITE

Founded in 1999, War Child Canada is an independent charitable organisation working across North America and around the world to assist children affected by war and to raise awareness for children's rights everywhere. We are working to help thousands whose lives have been torn apart by war, and to engage North American youth to take an active role in creating a more just future.

As a result, our international projects now help thousands of children and youth in ten regions of the world who have lived through war.

War Child Canada works with thousands of young people from across Canada and the United States, promoting awareness and understanding of the plight of those living in conflict and post-conflict zones, and encouraging actions that effect positive social change at the local, national and international level. Every year, War Child Canada works with youth, schools, school officials and educators from across Canada to promote greater global citizenship, build support for humanitarian efforts and foster global accountability and concern.

War Child Canada regularly posts employment opportunities for full-time staff positions.
